The King's Place

The King's place is run by a trust set up to look after it and The Lord’s Larder called Yeovil Christian Support Trust, the shop is a place where Christians from all denominations can work together with the community.

What are we?

A charity shop aiming to provide clean, good quality clothes, shoes, bedding, curtains, crockery, knick-knacks, books, DVD’s and anything that makes a home. We welcome donations of the above in good clean order. We also welcome you if you wish to come and say hello, or would like to browse, or buy. Alternatively you could make it part of your giving to God and the community, financially, or by giving time by volunteering as a helper and join the wonderful committed team already working here.

Lord's Linen Cupboard

We work alongside many other recognised agencies in town, such as Social Services, CAB, Women’s Refuge, Barnabas, Yeovil Night Shelter and Housing agencies. Providing many goods from clothing, bedding, curtains, pots and pans, cutlery, etc, free to those in need. In 2010, in excess of 74 requests from these agencies had been met, because of generous people like you donating. All profits from The King's Place goes directly back into the community of Yeovil, either to support other agencies or projects or people with personal needs.

The King's Place Social Fund is administered by the Yeovil Christian Support Trust (Charity No. 1092843). It receives funds through the profits from the Trust's charity shop and by direct donations, The King's Place, on Coronation Avenue, Yeovil.

It uses these funds in line with YCST's object, which is the relief of hardship and poverty in the local area. Applications can be made by referees on behalf of persons in need or by organisations working on behalf of those in need. Over the past 10 years over £40,000 has been distributed in this way, generated from profits from the shop and private financial donations. Examples of organisations who have received donations recently include: Local Service Team, Childrens Social Care, Oaklands Children’s Centre. On behalf of individuals we have been able to provide for the costs of e.g. cookers, fridges, holiday breaks for carers, washing machines, funeral expenses, counseling expenses and many more! Thank you for your support!
