The GateWay Building

In November 2000 YCC moved into the GateWay, which was once a Vauxhall Garage but turned into a resource centre for the Kingdom and community, fulfilling a vision that stretches back over a decade.

Facilities

The GateWay is an ideal solution to hosting an event such as: conferences, exhibitions, meetings, seminars, staff training and team building, receptions, music, theatre and social events.  Whatever your event...the possibilities are endless at the GateWay.  Choose from a variety of flexible meeting rooms on-site, designed for comfort, practicality and accessibility.

"I've been running English classes at the GateWay for almost two years and myself, the students and volunteers have always been made very welcome. The reception staff always deal promptly and efficiently with any queries and they have a lot of patience with learners who struggle making themselves understood. We use the Lyde & Westfield Rooms upstairs as excellent venues for our Speaking and Listening exams in the summer term. We are encouraged to feel part of a community even though I and most of the learners are not members of Yeovil Community Church.'

"I first used the GateWay for a World Music choral festival involving hundreds of Secondary School students in 2005, and have been back several times since - in fact, whenever I have a large group of musicians to gather together for rehearsals, workshops or performances.  The auditorium is a wonderful space for us, not least because it is so light, which has an undoubtedly uplifting effect on singers in particular.  The fact that seating can be arranged so easily to suit the occasion is also a major advantage.  The other wonderful aspect of using the GateWay is that both adults and young people are made to feel so welcome by the staff, who always accommodate our needs, however diverse.  I continue to recommend the GateWay as one of the most sympathetic venues in Somerset for large-scale musical events such as those I have described above."

Auditorium

This is a 650 seater max large flat floor space and the seating arrangements can suite your requirements.  There is a stage and the auditorium has the capability of providing audio and visual capabilities along with lighting for the stage area.  Why not come and have a look for yourself.  You won't be disappointed!

Small Hall

This is a hard flat floor space that is able to seat 150 max.  There is no audio, visual or lighting capabilities but this area is often used by groups that only require a large floor space.

Preston Lounge

This is a comfortable room suitable for smaller groups up to 20 max and has a small kitchen facility along with 2 toilets.

Westfield Suite

This room is on the first floor (no lift) and is a well used room by those wishing to seat 25 or 12 boardroom style.  TV + DVD player, flip chart, white board and OHP items are available.

Lyde Room

This room is on the first floor (no lift) and is a well used room by those wishing to seat 25 or 12 boardroom style.  TV + DVD player, flip chart, white board and OHP items are available.

Catering

Tea + Coffee - £1.50 per head per sitting 

Tea + Coffee + Biscuits - £2 per head per sitting

Tea + Coffee + Juice - £2 per head per sitting 

Tea + Coffee + Juice + Biscuits - £2.50 per head per sitting

Hire Costs

The GateWay is a spacious building, equipped in a comfortable style and suitable for events such as conferences, seminars, staff training, receptions, etc.  The building is alarmed for fire and theft and there is parking for approximately 40 cars, with additional space in nearby town centre car parks.

Auditorium  £60 per hr (capacity 650)

Small Hall  £20 per hr (capacity 120)

Preston Lounge  £20 per hr (capacity 20)

Westfield Suite  £15 per hr (capacity 25)

Lyde Room  £15 per hr (capacity 25)

If you are a non profit making organisation and therefore find the above charges are too expensive for your needs, please don't hesitate to contact Steve Hart Tel. 01935 433146 before you look elsewhere as there may well be scope for reduced prices.

In general, if you find prices for hiring a venue and catering are more than your budget can stretch to, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll do all we can to come in around your budget.  No promises but give us a try.  

Notes:

·         Catering charges will be in addition to the standard hiring charges for the rooms.

·         Users will be invoiced after the event and payment is required within 14 days.

·         Cancellation of bookings that have included catering will incur a 100% charge if cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the event.

·         Setting up and breaking down times should be included in the hire period.
