Who we are and why we are here
Hope for Kids International is a registered charity, based at the GateWay in Yeovil, seeking to reflect the love of Christ by rescuing orphans and vulnerable children in some of the world’s most challenging countries – Kenya, Zambia, Sudan, South Sudan, Lebanon, Romania, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Peru.
Through God’s grace and the amazing generosity of His people in the UK and beyond, we nurture children with quality holistic care and share with them the transforming power of Jesus Christ so they are enabled to give hope to others.
How do we help?
In the GLOBAL MISSION field, we partner with Kids Alive International (KAI) to EQUIP, EMPOWER, STAND WITH and LEARN FROM those individuals, families and communities who we are helping move on from the effects of poverty – ensuring safe, loving and effective care and development of the children in our joint care
In the UK, we EQUIP and EMPOWER churches, groups and individuals by providing RESOURCES and OPPORTUNITIES to give and to serve in an effective and Christ-centred manner.
KAI began its mission in 1916, so our partnership with them allows us to tap into a wealth of experience and expertise in rescuing children in crisis and giving hope. Together, we’re in it for the long haul; addressing issues of poverty and injustice are not fixed overnight. We journey a child’s life with them for as long as we need to – the joys as well as the trials.
Through the generosity of our supporters, including many at Yeovil Community Church, we are able to work through the following types of programme:
Children’s Homes – Our House Parents meet children’s physical, social, emotional, spiritual and educational needs in a safe, loving atmosphere.
Schools – We provide quality education for children who wouldn’t otherwise have access to schooling. In addition, we offer these children a meal, medical care, tutoring and Bible teaching – and the opportunity of a better life.
Care Centres and Community Programmes: Children-at-risk come to our Care Centres each day to receive food, clothing, medical care, and education. As well as helping the children, we also reach out to their families with the love of Christ by providing programmes that help them become self-sustaining and break the cycle of poverty.
How can you help?
We are passionate about seeing children’s lives restored and enabling them to reach their God-given potential – and we invite you to partner with us in this!
There are several ways that we can work together to change the lives of orphans and vulnerable children:
PRAY! We believe in the power of prayer. Join with us in praying for these kids and our programmes all around the world! Sign up for our prayer email.
SERVE! Join a team to one of our ministry locations and see first-hand what God is doing. Or maybe you feel that God is calling you as a short-term missionary or volunteer? If so, get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
GIVE! You can sponsor a child or make a donation to our work. Every gift – big or small – will make a difference! Sponsoring a child for a regular monthly amount is a brilliant way to INVEST in another person’s life, especially when you combine the power of prayer and written communication into the relationship. The joys of seeing a small child grow to become a young adult about to go to university or start their first job are amazing.
ASK – Get us to come and talk to your small group – or your congregation, if you’re not in YCC!
LOOK / LIKE / FOLLOW! — Keep an eye on our website www.hopeforkids.co.uk – keep informed by liking our facebook page and follow us on twitter.
We look forward to partnering with you as we work together to bring transformation in children’s lives! Come and talk to us if you want to know more!
